Charlie Chaplin film bought on eBay for $5 could be worth up to £40,000
If you ever doubted that real bargains could be found on eBay then the a guy called Morale Park from Henham, Essex, could prove you wrong. Recently he purchased an item simply described as “old film” on eBay for just $5.68
You can imagine how shocked he was to discover that what he had actually purchased was a previously unknown seven-minute Charlie Chaplin film called Zepped. The film which runs for just 7 minutes begins with Chaplin wishing he could leave America to join his British countrymen in the war, before being taken on a cloud and deposited on an English church spire. It then shows footage of Zeppelin airships flying over England during the First World War and footage from some other early Chaplin films.
Currently Morale is in the USA featuring in a documentary about his unusual find.
As to the actual value of the film experts believe that it could range from anywhere between £3,000 and £40,000.
