eBay Bid Assistant to be removed
Hi everyone
More changes to eBay.co.uk
Regards
Steve H
We’re always trying to make our sites simpler and take off features that don’t get much use. That’s why we’re going to retire Bid Assistant – which allowed you to bid on multiple similar items in succession – from eBay.co.uk and eBay.ie in the next few weeks.
The removal plan
On 22 September, we’ll start removing the links to Bid Assistant from item pages and from My eBay, and buyers will no longer be able to create new groups of items. If you’ve used Bid Assistant on eBay.co.uk or eBay.ie recently, or plan to use it before 22 September, here’s how you’ll be affected:
If you’ve got an active Bid Assistant group as of 22 September: You’ll still see the link to Bid Assistant in My eBay, and will be able to view your groups of items inside it. Bid Assistant will also continue to bid on the items in each group as scheduled.
But you won’t be able to add or remove items from a group or change your maximum bids. Your Bid Assistant groups will essentially ‘lock’ on 22 September so if you want to change anything in them, make sure you do it before that day.
If you have a closed Bid Assistant group as of 22 September: You’ll still be able to view your closed groups via the link in My eBay.
We’ll take Bid Assistant off eBay.co.uk and eBay.ie altogether in mid-October.
Regards,
The eBay Team.
