The QXL UK auction site is closing on 30 May, 2008.
Shock news just in.
QXL is the second largest online auctionsite in the UK is to cease trading in the UK. Could it be that the proliferation of Auction sites in to the UK marketplace has squeezed QXL into submission. Or is it that eBay's stranglehold on the UK market was just to much of a challenge? I don't know the answer, but thought you should all be kept updated. Look out for more news as it breaks.
The full statement from QXL is published below.

Selling, Bidding and Buying safely during the remaining days of QXL.co.uk
While you continue to use the QXL UK auction service, please follow these safety guidelines:
• Know who you're dealing with - Deals should only go forward if the both the buyer and the seller are comfortable with the terms of the sale.
• Use the help option - if anything seems unclear. It is very important that you know what you are bidding on and the terms of sale before you bid.
• Keep Records - of all correspondence
• Carefully Evaluate - your payment options
• Use common sense - If the item description or terms of sale seem too good to be true, they probably are.
We would like to take the opportunity to thank everyone who joined the QXL auction community during the previous 10 years and thank you for your custom and loyalty.
If you have any questions or need advice please email on enquiries@qxl.com
Kind Regards
The QXL Team.
